Rugby is already where the crew sleeps
Hotels, food, and fuel are here. Crews working jobs around the region end up staying in Rugby anyway, so putting the equipment in the same town as the beds saves a run every morning and every night.
The small towns around here have neither
Leeds, Cando, Harvey, Rolette, Anamoose, Drake, and Towner do not have hotels or anywhere to put equipment indoors. If the job is near one of them, this is the closest place that has both.
Right on Highway 2, in the middle
US Highway 2 runs past the door. Rugby sits about an hour from Minot and about an hour from Devils Lake, so one base covers jobs in both directions without driving equipment back and forth.
Doors that take real equipment
The 60x100 units are 6,000 square feet under one roof, with a 24-foot-wide by 18-foot-tall overhead door. Bucket trucks, vac trailers, tenders, and a semi go inside instead of sitting in a fenced lot under snow.
Indoors and heated matters here
Floor heat, R25 insulation, and a floor drain keep hydraulics warm overnight, so equipment starts moving in January. You can service a machine inside right where it is parked.
